Day 01 :
Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kisoro
- Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in the morning, where you will be met by your driver/guide.
- Embark on a journey to the town of Kisoro, located near the border with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
- The drive from Entebbe to Kisoro takes approximately 6-7 hours, passing through scenic countryside and small towns.
- Upon arrival in Kisoro, check in to your lodge and have lunch.
- Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or exploring the local area through activities like birdwatching or nature walks.
- Enjoy dinner at the lodge in the evening and an overnight stay.
Day 02 :
Transfer to Bwindi and Gorilla Trekking
- After an early breakfast, depart for the nearby Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. (approximately 1-2 hours)
- Attend a brief orientation session at the park headquarters, where you will receive instructions and guidelines for the gorilla trekking activity.
- Set out on your gorilla trekking adventure, which can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family.
- Once you locate the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to observe them for up to 1 hour, marveling at their family dynamics and behaviors.
- Return to the lodge for lunch and the remainder of the afternoon to relax or explore the local area.
- Enjoy dinner at the lodge in the evening.
Day 03 :
Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experience.
- After an early breakfast, embark on a second day of gorilla trekking in Bwindi.
- This allows you the opportunity to potentially see a different gorilla family or gain additional insights into their lives.
- Return to the lodge for lunch, followed by a cultural experience with the Batwa Pygmy community.
- The Batwa are an indigenous group who were the original inhabitants of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
- Engage with the Batwa and learn about their traditional way of life, customs, and connection to the forest.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the camp/lodge.
Day 04 :
Transfer to Kisoro and Boat Cruise.
- After breakfast, depart Bwindi and transfer back to the town of Kisoro.
- Upon arrival in Kisoro, check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch.
- In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the serene Lake Bunyonyi.
- Lake Bunyonyi is renowned for its scenic beauty, with terraced hills and over 20 small islands dotting its surface.
- The boat cruise offers a chance to observe the local wildlife and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the lake.
- Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 05 :
Departure from Entebbe.
- After an early breakfast, depart Kisoro and make the return journey to Entebbe, stopping for lunch along the way.
- Upon arrival in Entebbe, check in to your final lodge and have the afternoon free to relax or explore the local area.
- Enjoy a farewell dinner at the lodge before your late-night departure from Entebbe International Airport.
