Things to Do at Hell’s Gate National Park
1. Cycling Through the Park
Hell’s Gate is one of the only parks in Kenya where you can cycle past giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. Bicycles are available for rent at the gate (KES 800–1,500).
2. Hike the Gorge
Explore the narrow Ol Njorowa Gorge, walk past hot springs, volcanic cliffs, and geothermal vents. Always go with a local guide for safety—especially during rainy seasons due to flash flood risks.
3. Rock Climbing
Try rock climbing at Fischer’s Tower or the Central Tower. Gear and guides can be arranged at the park.
4. Wildlife Viewing
Expect to see:
- Giraffes
- Zebras
- Baboons
- Buffalo
- Eland
Over 100 bird species including vultures and eagles
5. Relax at Olkaria Geothermal Spa
After hiking and biking, soak in the warm mineral-rich waters at the Olkaria Spa. Entry is separate from the park fees.
6. Optional Extras
Visit a local Maasai cultural center to learn about traditional life.
Add a short trip to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride among hippos and waterbirds.
